Help Shape LMCHD’s Priority’s for the Future
The Los Medanos Community Health District (LMCHD) has developed a first draft of a new mission as well as a draft framework for a new Strategic Plan. The strategic planning process is charting a new course for LMCHD to engage with the surrounding communities to improve the quality of healthcare for District residents while continuing to promote an environment of health and wellness.
LMCHD wants to ensure that the strategic planning process is both comprehensive and inclusive, so that together we create a plan and shared vision of how LMCHD operates.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT! WE NEED YOUR INPUT! WE NEED YOUR INPUT!
The public will have an opportunity to provide feedback by responding to an online survey. Comments will help to inform the process of developing the plan and revisions will be incorporated over the coming months.
Beginning June 1, the draft of the Mission, Vision, Guiding Principles and Goals will be available on LMCHD’s website at www.lmchd.org along with a link to an online survey. The survey can also be found at this address:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R27692V

ACHD for Press Release for March 22, 2010
SB 726 (Ashburn) Direct Physician Employment
March 25th marks the beginning of Spring Recess for the California Legislature, meaning that most legislators will be back in their Districts until April 4th. Over the next few weeks we will be advancing several elements of support for SB 726, a critical piece of this effort is marshalling a sizeable letter writing campaign to register the breadth and depth of our coalition. As you know, Legislators judge constituent interest by expressions of their interest and now more than ever we need your support if we are to get SB 726 through the Senate and to the Governor's desk. We would like to see 1000 letters of support for SB 726 submitted by April 2nd. You can help in this effort by accessing the website www.doctorsforall.org, select the section "Email Your Legislator" and follow the directions on generating a support letter. To assist in meeting our target of 1000 letters, we would encourage each of you to ask three others to join you in registering support. Your letters do make a difference! While you are visiting www.doctorsforall.org, take a few minutes to navigate around the site, evaluate the coalition members, read the articles on the ever increasing challenges of access to care, sign up to receive updates and remember, success will come down to something very simple - the number of constituents who register their support. Please act now.
Please direct any questions you may have about SB 726 to Peter Gambee at peterg@achd.org or (916) 743-9246 or Tom Petersen at tomp@achd.org or (916) 266-5210.

ACHD for Press Release for February 10, 2010
TO: Healthcare District Members
FROM: Tom Petersen, Director, Government Relations
RE: Launch of Doctors for All Website
 |
The Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD) is pleased to announce the launch of the website www.doctorsforall.org, a website dedicated to the legislative and public relations activities associated with promoting SB 726 (Ashburn). "I would like to call your attention to the growing list of supporters of SB 726 and note that Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) has recently been added to the list", Mr. Petersen stated today.
Catholic Healthcare West has developed a very interesting advocacy instrument-Community Need Index (CNI) that is used to quantify community public health status at the zip code level throughout the nation. We have received permission to add a link to the survey instrument on www.doctorsforall.org for use in communicating the health care access challenges in California. The link can be found in the research section of the tool bar titled Press Room.
Please take some time to visit the website, navigate around it to get familiar with the site contents, specifically, Get Involved to receive e-mail updates and Accessing Your Legislator to register your support for SB 726. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at (916) 266-5210 or by email at tomp@achd.org.
