About the Garden
In 2012 LMCHD founded the community garden as a benefit to the environment, and to the health and educational well-being of community residents.
LMCHD manages a garden teaching program that includes 39 ground plots, 18 raised beds, and 23 ground circle plots on District-owned property, where members can grow produce and ornamental plants for personal use.
The garden is also a teaching garden that offers workshops by the Contra Costa Master Gardener and other instructional programs.
The garden has a committed group of volunteers, and membership fees imposed by the LMCHD Garden Committee help cover common expenses.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer community gardener.
