LMCHD Summer Intern Program

2014 LMCHD Interns

LMCHD has hosted young adults transitioning from foster care to independent living for the past 5 years in their Summer Internship Program. The program is designed to provide youth with a unique work experience and to create an environment for youth to work in a team based, community outreach project. The internship's mission is to "bring public awareness to a public health issue and to introduce youth to healthcare professions. This internship will train our participants in several aspects of local government agency/research outreach.  They will gain direct “hands on” experience in the aforementioned areas while developing an understanding of how organizations affect your community.  Each day, their drive and creative ideas will provide solutions on how the community can build a better tomorrow.  Whether it is the pride that comes with accomplishment, personal growth, or making a difference in the world, our interns will discover true personal success by participating in the LMCHD summer internship program.
